MacKenzie Rosenberg (he/him)
MacKenzie (Mr. Randall) is a founding artist and continues to be a visionary leader at Dancing Grounds. Since 2012, he has served in multiple entrepreneurial roles in a growing organization, including social media coordinator, web developer, adult programs instructor (hip hop and salsa), and youth instructor. He has served as Youth Programs Manager for the past eight years, coordinating Saturday, summer and in-school programming for thousands of New Orleans youth. His creative vision has shaped DG's performances with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Contemporary Arts Center, and more. His leadership in the youth development field has taken him to represent Dancing Grounds in Paris and Los Angeles.
While working at DG partner school, Arise Academy, he created S.W.A.G. City, middle school hip hop group for black boys that combined artistic expression and theatricality with one-on-one mentorship. Randall choreographed "Hoods Up," a piece inspired by Trayvon Martin, which his boys performed in City Council chambers for councilmembers and the police chief. New Orleans District Attorney, Jason Williams, has said that this piece had a profound impact on all the leaders in the room that day.
As a dance teacher, Randall has inspired over 1,000 students of all ages with dynamic, energetic, inclusive classes designed to bring joy and self-confidence to dancers of all levels.
