Kieta Mutepfa
Kieta is a native of Los Angeles and Chicago respectively and moved to New Orleans five years ago for a career opportunity with Merck & Co Inc. Kieta holds a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University and a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology/Elementary Education from Fisk University.
For over twenty-five years Kieta has had the unique chance of charting a professional path that has allowed her to serve and support communities both domestically and abroad. Kieta has been deeply impacted by the transformative presence of brilliant, courageous and kind people who were mentors, teachers and guides. These relationships have taken her to unimaginable places and experiences that include serving as a student ambassador in Seoul, South Korea, volunteering as a HIV Community Health Worker with Peace Corps Mozambique and most recently as a 2017 Global Health Fellow in Kenya and South Africa. Currently, Kieta serves as a Community Liaison working in communities that expand six states in the deep south and midwest. Kieta’s greatest success and deepest life challenge is preparing her daughter, Nyasha Nia, to live and lead a life where she happy, kind and courageous.
Kieta loves spending time with family and friends, traveling in the USA and abroad, reading, music, art and volunteering with such organizations as Edible Schoolyard New Orleans, Advisory Member with the Greater New Orleans Foundation Impact 100 and several other organizations impacting the lives of children, youth and communities living in New Orleans. Kieta is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and honors God and her global community of strong and generous people that have helped shape the woman she has and will evolve in to.
