Every year the Dance for Social Change (DSC) Teen Company chooses a social justice issue to inspire Dancing Grounds' annual DSC Festival. This year, the company has created a dance film titled, Ya Heard Meh? Youth Stories in a Global Pandemic, that urges audiences to listen to young people about how the global pandemic is affecting their mental health and wellness.
We're answering their call with our 2021 Give NOLA Day campaign.
We’ll be galvanizing our community to raise $25,000 for a variety of wellness initiatives like the DSC Festival, DG's backyard garden, and space grants for BIPOC artists and wellness practitioners.
Our $5,000 stretch goal will support us in donating $1,000 to five partners led by black women doing powerful and important healing work in the city: New Orleans Dance Collective, Bloom Dance, The Ohm Well, Cultural Ties Dance Festival, and Reparations Black Wellness Clinic.
We're activating our incredible network of movement teachers, artists, and entrepreneurs to care for our community. On Monday, May 3rd, we'll be raffling off yoga, dance, fitness, life coaching, medicinal art and more to our Give NOLA donors.
We'll also be offering free adult classes at Crescent Park on May 3rd and May 4th.
Stay tuned for more details!
